Fashionable Florals

Thursday, May 3rd, 2012

Now that the warm weather is upon us, it’s time for you to go back into your closet and break out those classic floral dresses, skirts, tops, and shoes that you’ve been missing. Whether you like a subtle pattern or prefer a vivid, bright design, floral-print is a trend that can easily be given your own personal touch of style.

Here are three different ways we like to pair floral prints with our Spring/Summer collection:

Poppy Red

The Odetta in red hot/saddle is a chic, heeled sandal that is perfect for showing off your pedicure. With a red flower pattern, double ankle strap, and gold heel accents, the Odetta is the perfect complement to a structured outfit of neutral colors and bold accessories.

Sunshine Yellow

You can’t have a bad day in the Felicia in sunshine yellow. These bright flats are printed with yellow flowers and polished with a small yellow bow. Wear them with denim, a flowy white top, and sunshine yellow accents for a simple bohemian look.

Accented Flats

Floral pants are a fun and fresh trend that will add some excitement to a blouse or tank. Pair them with the Betty, with its accent hardware, for the perfect casual office look with a fun twist.

Thursday, March 22nd, 2012

Now that the birds are chirping and the flowers are blooming, it’s time to shed some layers and kick your wardrobe into spring-mode. And what better way to transition your outfits from drab to dramatic then with a pair of colored jeans? Whether they are pastels, neons, or saturated darker hues, these denim essentials offer a wide variety of amazing spring outfit combinations for you to try.

Here are some of our favorite ways to pair colored denim with Sam Edelman shoes this Spring.

Ginger

The Ginger sandals in rose gold, pewter, and light gold will dazzle with your pastel-colored denim shorts and cropped jeans. These light, playful shoes are perfect for the beach or a casual day of shopping.

Javi

If you’re into color-blocking, the Javi in salmon is definitely the shoe for you. Keep it simple by wearing with jeans in the same color family, or mix it up with a pair of shocking blue or radiant yellow skinnies.

Jorgia

There’s nothing sexier than a combination of vivid color and animal print. The Jorgia in new nude leopard looks gorgeous paired with your favorite colored denim. If this look is too daring for you, tone it down by trying a pair of snakeskin flats like the Felicia.

How to Wear it: The Black Maxi Skirt

Tuesday, February 28th, 2012

The black maxi skirt is a timeless piece that has a place in every girl’s closet. Both flattering and chic, this wardrobe staple is defined by its versatility. In fact, with so many styling options it can be tough to create the perfect look for your taste. Check out three easy looks we created starring the black maxi skirt and some of our favorite shoes from our Spring 2012 collection:

Go boho by wearing the black maxi with the Petty boots and a chiffon blouse! This look is stylishly casual, with the leopard pattern on the Petty offering a fun pop. In the warmer weather, trade the long-sleeved blouse for a sleeveless one, and kick off your boots for a pair of Dante gladiator sandals.

Pair the maxi skirt with a white top, some metallic embellishments and the Frankie flat. This elegant yet understated style will let the metal studs on the Frankie shine and give your outfit a bit of sophisticated sparkle. A colorful pair of shoes is the perfect complement to the simplicity of black and white, so pick any of the Frankie flats’ bright and fun hues to complete the look.

You can’t go wrong with wearing the black maxi with a brightly-colored tee and the Gracie flip-flop. This balanced look is the perfect blend of color and neutral, with the straps on the Gracie balancing out the bright tones of the tee.

These looks aren’t the only ways to style your black maxi. Have an outfit with your own pair of Sam Edelman shoes you’d like to show off? Tweet at us or show us on Facebook!

Sizzling shades for Summer 2011

Tuesday, June 21st, 2011

Sunglasses– their colorful lenses, mod shapes, and embellished frames are popping up everywhere from the catwalk to the boardwalk. To keep you stylish this summer, we’ve rounded up some of our favorite shades so you can wear the latest fashion all season long.

•  See the world through rose-colored lenses in TopShop’s Keyhole Sunglass. Perfect for overcast days, (yes, there are still UV rays), these sunnies are sure to bring a pop of color to your ensemble and lift your spirits.

•  Love Victoria Beckham’s glam style? Now you can channel your own posh-ness in her line of shades. These unique frames feature curved temples for a truly unique yet ultimately refined look.

•  Alexander Wang x Linda Farrow embellishes the classic wayfarer style with zipper teeth accents that make these dark shades anything but ordinary. We are loving this punk take on a classic silhouette.

•  Go retro in Lennon-esque circular frames, perfect for this season’s 70’s revival. We love the tortoise-rimmed “Martine” from American Apparel. This vintage style looks groovy with woodblock wedges like our “Wess” platform.

•  Add some bling with House of Harlow’s 1960 Sasha Sunglass that features removable chain tassels. Two accessories in one, fashionista Nicole Richie designed these chic shades to give the illusion of earrings while keeping your eyes safe from the sun.

Fringe Benefits

Wednesday, June 8th, 2011

Fringe has been spotted everywhere this season from Coachella to catwalks, making this trend a summer must. Think unfinished hems and crocheted layers that pair perfectly with leather tassels to take your look to the next level. Biker or bohemian, adding fringed accessories will have you feelin’ like a free spirit in no time.

Go from the beach to a night on the town in our “Dazey” sandals. The soft suede tassels and studded nailhead detail on this style make for just the right amount of bling when worn with a sundress, or when dressing up a pair of cutoff denim shorts.

Our fringed “Louie” ankle bootie is the ultimate summer boot. These stacked-heel booties are irresistible, whether you’re rocking out at a music festival or promenading the city streets. We also love pairing these ankle boots with this season’s bright-colored denim for a modern boho vibe.

Festival Fashion

Wednesday, March 30th, 2011

Music lovers and fashionistas rejoice! Spring is approaching, and warmer weather means the start of music festival season.  Rock and roll history proves that music and fashion are not complete without one another, so whether your ticket is for Coachella, Bonnaroo or Glastonbury – we’ve got some style suggestions to help you rock out in style.

Thanks to festival-goers like as Kate Moss, Rachel Bilson, and Kate Bosworth, festival grounds have become THE place to spot fabulous boho-chic street style. Start with a sexy pair of denim cutoffs, wear them with any tank to beat the heat, and throw on a loose fitting jacket after sunset. Pull on a pair of flat ankle boots (sandal-wearers beware—the grounds are muddy) and you’re good to go. Our fringed “Louie” booties add the perfect amount of bohemian flair to any outdoor attire.

Capturing the Parisian Chic

Friday, March 18th, 2011

We have our eyes set on the fashionable streets of Paris, a city whose women represent the crème de la crème of style. Whether or not you’re actually strolling by the Eiffel Tower, we’ve put together a few tips to help you capture the infamous Parisian chic!

• High-waisted trousers are always in style in the City of Lights. Keep it casual in denim, or opt for a pleated pant and heels if you’re feeling très sophisticated.

• Tailoring proves the design is in the details, and tuxedo jackets are a must-have item for Spring 2011. This iconic piece is a favorite go-to style from the Left Bank to the Champs-Élysées.

• Parisians covet their basic wardrobe staples, so balance your look with a simple white pocket T, styled with more attention-grabbing elements.

• Keep your skin looking fresh and au natural by packing a limited edition Bourjois “Rendez-vous à Paris” blush in your bag. The Parisian cosmetic brand has collaborated with artist Juliette Buré to create collectible blush pots decorated with Parisian monuments.

• Parisian women always accessorize! Dress up any casual outfit with an elegant silk scarf or vintage handbag. Add statement jewelry, like oversized rings, to liven up a classic French manicure.

• Of course, the pièce de résistance of Parisian Chic style is on your feet! Complete your look with a pair of our studded “Lorissa” heels, to have people saying “Ooh-la-la,” no matter what street you’re walking on.

Winter Shorts

Thursday, March 10th, 2011

Make shorts a part of your winter wardrobe à la your favorite stylish celebrities, by pairing them with tights and heeled booties or classic flats. Wool, tweed, leather, and thick boucle fabrics are ultra-chic and seasonally appropriate, especially if your climate calls for sweaters and outerwear. It-girls Nicole Richie, Kate Moss, and Olivia Palermo love wearing denim shorts with opaque black tights, which is a great casual break from skinny jeans. For an edgy downtown vibe, rock a cut-off shorts style with our lace-up “Jagger” bootie. Or, brighten up your winter palette with vibrant-colored legwear and a classic ballet flat for a more playful look with a pop of color. Be sure to accessorize your shorts with winter essentials like scarves, jackets and gloves, to stay both warm and stylish this season!
