GUEST BLOGGER: Jess FROM Mint The Blog

Thursday, April 11th, 2013

I’m back… Jess here from Mint The Blog. So happy to be guest blogging for Sam Edelman! This time around we’re talking about the new loves of my life: the Marina - these babies were my go to shoe during LA Fashion Week! The heart shaped detail on the peep toe is super flattering and so classic. The ankle strap is delicate and pretty and the subtle pop of gold fleck detail on the heel is right up my alley as I am a total gold girl; it adds that perfect amount of rock n’ roll!

I wore the Marina‘s with leather pants and a camouflage tank to juxtapose the sophistication of the shoe. I love to mix and match pieces that you wouldn’t normally see together, and the tough look of the camo against the oh-so-feminine vibe of the Marina is my favorite part of this ensemble.

Although, I usually try to not to go overboard with matching, I felt this gold satchel complemented perfectly. An arrowhead necklace and black sunnies with gold detail (more gold, more gold!) added the finishing touches. Throw on a black blazer and this ensemble could easily go from day to night, shopping to concert!

The very versatile Marina’s come in some fantastic shades; the flirty and feminine blush tone, the fiery flamingo and the fresh turquoise. Sorry, couldn’t think of a “T” word for the last one! Tranquil! Done. Well, these black Marina’s have been on such heavy rotation I might just have to get one of each color!   Happy Spring!

Style Profile: Pretty Little Liars

Thursday, April 4th, 2013

It isn’t just the mysterious and frightening plot of Pretty Little Liars that has us tuning in every week; it’s also the show’s amazing sense of style that makes watching PLL such a thrill. From Hanna’s flirty and feminine outfits to Aria’s eclectic punk-rock ensembles, each of the Liars’ has a unique look that captures their distinct personalities perfectly. Named one of the “Most Fashionable Shows of All Time” and “Most Stylish Cast on TV”, it is no surprise that both on and off set, these fashion icons are always seen rocking a pair of Sam Edelman shoes.

Check out some of our favorite fashion moments from the “Outstanding TV Drama,” Pretty Little Liars:

Lucy Hale (Aria Montgomery), shows off her characters edgy sense of style in our ‘Palermo‘ boots and ‘Kendrix‘ booties this season on Pretty Little Liars.

From dinner dates, to errands, and even on Instagram, Ashley Benson, Shay Mitchell, and Lucy Hale can be seen rocking their fringe “Louie booties!

Ashley Benson (Hanna Marin), mixes flirty and fashion-forward in our ‘Pixie’ pump, ‘Wynn’ wedges, and ‘Knox booties on the show this season.

HEAD OVER HEELS

Friday, February 8th, 2013

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, and while this can mean chocolates, flowers and maybe even some sparkly jewelry to some, for us, it’s all about the shoes. No matter whether you’re single, in a relationship, or ‘it’s complicated,’ February 14th is simply the perfect time to bust out those sexy shoes you’ve been auditioning in the mirror and do some hunting with cupid’s arrow. Of course, with so many alluring options in our Spring collection, it’s easy to get caught in a love triangle between two of your favorites, so here are some of our most romance-ready styles.

What better way to show that special someone that you have a heart of gold, than with a pair of gleaming gold snakeskin stilettos, like the Abbott. This elegant but revealing heel is just the right amount of sugar and spice to really turn up the heat. Pair it with a sexy red dress for a flirtatious yet feminine ensemble.

If you want to be the star in someone else’s sky, you’ll need to shine like it first; and no shoe helps you do this more than the dangerously sexy Reagan. The slim metallic heel of this romantic pump makes a daring couple with its flirty peep toe for a look that is sure to make hearts race.  Pair it with deep red pants, and a sultry lace top for a drop dead gorgeous ensemble.

If you want to stand out as someone’s valentine, it helps to stand above the competition; which is why we heart the sky-high Mason. This heeled sandal features bold straps, a trendy design and a fashionable platform that will help you kiss the sky or your loving beau.  Rock it with a form-fitting black dress, romance inspired jewelry, and our Adele jacket for an adorable contrast of sweet and sexy.

Stepping Back: A look at the Unforgettable Moments of 2012

Thursday, December 20th, 2012

We’re just a few days away from counting down to midnight and popping the champagne, and while New Years is a great time to flaunt those dazzling sparkly heels you just bought, it’s also a perfect time to reflect. As we look back on 2012, here are some of the highlights that made the past 365 such an amazing ride for us.

Head-to-Toe Style
This summer we expanded on our collection by introducing two new categories of products: handbags and outerwear. These new lines build upon our signature trend-driven aesthetic to give the ‘Sam Girl’ even more ways to bring style and attitude to her everyday ensembles.

The Doors Open
On October 27, we cut the ribbon on our first brick-and-mortar retail store in SoHo. Designed by famed architect, David Mann, our New York City Flagship has the ambiance and essence of a lavishly chic New York City apartment. It is a place where our customers can go to feel comfortable and stylish while shopping our hot new line of shoes, bags, outerwear and more.

‘Brand of the Year’
On November 27, Footwear News awarded us the esteemed recognition of ‘Brand of the Year’. The prestigious honor was bestowed at the 26th annual Footwear News Achievement Awards held at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. It was a truly magical and humbling evening.

Welcome to The Circus
This Fall, we launched our new, junior-minded collection, Circus by Sam Edelman. This vivacious new line brings our edginess to a whole new generation, with each new style being equal parts high-fashion and equal parts no-nonsense rebellion.

The Return of ‘Sam and Libby’
In November 2012, we returned to our roots in a sense with the re-launch of ‘Sam & Libby,’ the line that started it all. Through an exclusive partnership with Target, the revamped brand is set to hit stores May 5, 2013, featuring 20 styles that aim to elevate contemporary footwear with designer fashion details.

2012 was truly a momentous and exciting year for us, and 2013 is shaping up to be even better. What exciting moments shaped and influenced you this year? Share your 2012 reflections with us on FacebookTwitter, or Instagram using #SE2012memories.

Holiday treats for stylish feet

Thursday, December 6th, 2012

The holidays are upon us, which means tis’ the season for joy, presents and, perhaps most importantly, holiday parties. Whether you’re with family, friends, or coworkers, it seems there is always an excuse to pair some dangerously sexy shoes with a dangerously ugly sweater and cut loose. Of course, no matter how holiday chic your outfit may be, to truly be the life of the party, you need to also come bearing some tasty treats. While any old diva can pick something up a store, it takes a true holiday party rock star to not only make something from scratch, but also make something that matches perfectly with their new Sam Edelman shoes.

If you’re feeling up for the challenge, here are 3 delicious pairings that will have you holiday ready from feet to treat:

Velvety Bliss
Pump up your party look in the velvety rich “Alexa” peep-toes. With its sumptuous and vibrant style, this flirtatious platform will have you glowing with confidence and holiday cheer. And what better way to make the Alexa’s opulent red suede “pop” than with some irresistibly delicious Red Velvet Cake Pops.

Sugar & Spice
Give your classic party look a touch of sweet and spicy in the western-inspired “Sidney” bootie. With distressed leather fringe and playful metallic details, this whiskey-brown bootie just feels right when worn around the fireplace with family and friends. Complete the holiday experience by treating your loved ones to another sweet and spicy treat such as Gingerbread Cupcakes and Cinnamon Cream Cheese Frosting.

Snowflake Sparkle
Add a touch of naughty and nice to your holiday style in the “Pryce” pump. With its silk straps and shiny edgy embellishments, this sexy platform ignites your look with touch of glitz and glamour. Complement your spotlight-stealing sparkle with a glittery dessert such as the Snowflake Sparkle Cookies.

What are some of your favorite holiday treats to pair with our latest collection of party-ready footwear? Share the recipes getting you in the holiday spirit with us on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest!

Sam’s Game Day Style Playbook

Thursday, October 11th, 2012

Whether you’re tailgating with friends or just hitting up the local sports bar, catching a football game is great chance to stylishly flaunt your team colors with a sporty yet fashionable outfit. Of course, dressing for the big game can be tricky given the unpredictable weather and style conditions of every football climate. So if you’re planning on taking in some pigskin this season, it’s time to huddle up, because we’ve created some game day looks that will let you show off your team spirit no matter which city you call home.

New York

The big apple is a city divided when it comes to football; which means your game day attire really depends on whether you support Gang Green or the G-Men. If you’re a Giants fan, we recommend sporting a pair of red Lisle boots with a striped sweater, boyfriend jeans, and knit beanie.  Finish the look with the Quilted Leather Moto Jacket and Hugo Messenger for a game day ensemble that’s ideal for crowds and stadium seating.

If you’re a Jets fan, your game day look should kick off with the stacked heel Perry in Putty. Team this bootie with some skinny jeans, a color blocked sweater and our Convertible Jacket in Olive for a versatile game day outfit. For an extra point of style, tie it all together with a pair of fingerless gloves and our Signature Snake Crossbody bag.

Chicago

With cool breezes from the Great Lakes sweeping through the streets, the Windy City definitely lives up to its reputation. These conditions mean your game day attire needs to stand up to the cool and breezy elements if you’re going to cheer on the Monsters of the Midway. We recommend audibling to a pair of orange jeans, a navy sweater, and some winter-ready accessories. Tie the whole look together with a pair of the sleek Penny riding boots and the Vintage Loren Crossbody bag. If you’re hitting up Solider Field, you may want to bundle even more in the Hooded Puffer Coat so you can stay chic and toasty while rooting on ‘Da Bears.’

Miami

If you’re planning on cheering on ‘the fish,’ you better get ready for a sun soaked afternoon. With high temperatures hitting the south Florida field all year round, we’re keeping it cool in bright aqua cutoffs and a loose fitting tank. Then, add a bit of Miami heat to your game day style with the Sebastian loafer in orange and exotic leopard, and the Chantal pouchette in coral. Fins up!

Dallas

There are few places better for showing off your true Big D spirit than at a Cowboys game. Channel your inner cowgirl by pairing the Stevie boots, with some Lone-Star wash cutoffs, a white tank, and (you guessed it) a cowboy hat. Finish off the look with some blue sunglasses and the Georgiana Fringe Crossbody for one Texas look that nobody could mess with.

What NFL team do you root for and how do you keep it game day chic in your Sam Edelman shoes?  Let us know on Twitter, or show us on Pose, Instagram or Facebook.
