Stepping Up Your Staples

Thursday, April 25th, 2013

A great pair of jeans, that perfect white tee, your go-to LBD…there are certain pieces in your closet that are just absolute staples. They are those no-fail wardrobe essentials that you can always rely on to fit well and look great.  While we love the ease and comfort of these wardrobe mainstays, they can, at times, run the risk, of being a bit boring. That is, until you pair them  with a bold, stylish and versatile pair of shoes!

From the workday to girl’s nights out, we’re showing you how to reinvent your wardrobe staples using some our favorite styles from our Spring collection.

Dress for Success
Give your workplace look a promotion with professional pieces in bright styles. We recommend pairing the Reagan pumps with a statement necklace and the Gigi trench coat for a corporate look that will have the boardroom buzzing.

Weekend Casual

A great tank and boyfriend jeans serve as the perfect basis to rock some awesome accessories! Let the Linsley Espadrille flats and Loren Mini Moto jacket give a chic and fashionable edge to this weekend casual ensemble.

Brunching

Add some standout pieces to the sweet and feminine vibe of a linen sundress for a fun weekend brunch look. We recommend a pair of mirrored sunglasses, the Madaline messenger, and Trey ankle-wrap wedges to give your boring breakfast ensemble a mimosa-ready twist!

Ladies Night

A simple black dress is anything but simple with the right accessories! Dance the night away in the embellished Blakely heels with the Blair clutch, and a colorful lip for a sexy look that will make a bold statement in all the right ways.

Style Profile: Pretty Little Liars

Thursday, April 4th, 2013

It isn’t just the mysterious and frightening plot of Pretty Little Liars that has us tuning in every week; it’s also the show’s amazing sense of style that makes watching PLL such a thrill. From Hanna’s flirty and feminine outfits to Aria’s eclectic punk-rock ensembles, each of the Liars’ has a unique look that captures their distinct personalities perfectly. Named one of the “Most Fashionable Shows of All Time” and “Most Stylish Cast on TV”, it is no surprise that both on and off set, these fashion icons are always seen rocking a pair of Sam Edelman shoes.

Check out some of our favorite fashion moments from the “Outstanding TV Drama,” Pretty Little Liars:

Lucy Hale (Aria Montgomery), shows off her characters edgy sense of style in our ‘Palermo‘ boots and ‘Kendrix‘ booties this season on Pretty Little Liars.

From dinner dates, to errands, and even on Instagram, Ashley Benson, Shay Mitchell, and Lucy Hale can be seen rocking their fringe “Louie booties!

Ashley Benson (Hanna Marin), mixes flirty and fashion-forward in our ‘Pixie’ pump, ‘Wynn’ wedges, and ‘Knox booties on the show this season.

Ashley Benson adds an edge to her casual look in the ‘Beatrix‘ flats; and Lucy not only wore our ‘Danielle‘ pumps at her Nylon Magazine cover party, but even stopped by our Soho store to pick up some new shoes!

A Black and White Issue

Thursday, March 21st, 2013

In the world of fashion, there is no color combination that is more timeless or classically chic than black and white. From reliable everyday pieces to classic formal attire, these contrasting tones have worked harmoniously in our wardrobe for as long as we can remember. Yet, given this history of simple elegance, it’s easy to regard black and white styles as basic and even a bit boring. That is, until this season, when black and white are making a stunning comeback.

Whether making a statement with graphic patterns or polished separates, this season’s styles are giving you a multitude of new ways to let an achromatic palette add instant edge to your style.

Check out how we’re giving basic black and white a fashionable revamp with 3 fun and sexy looks that will be fresh yet classically stylish for many seasons to come!

Casual Stripes: Jordie Studded Trench Coat, Marina Perforated Tote, Gigi Sandal

Short and Sweet: Allie Stiletto, Colette Satchel

The Louie is a fun fringed bootie, that adds a pop of boho sass to a casual hip look. Pair it with jeans, a skater skirt, a jean jacket, or an animal printed bag and you’re good to hit the town! Funk it up or dress it down, the Louie is a Golden Girl favorite!

GUEST BLOGGER: Jess FROM Mint The Blog

Thursday, February 28th, 2013

Hello! I’m Jess from Mint The Blog! I am a stylist turned designer that loves to share my experiences with styling and my love of fashion through posting my everyday looks on my blog. I am so excited to be guest blogging for Sam Edelman as I have been a fan for many years!

It was love at first sight with these Serena wedges, which could not be more suitable for Spring. Wedges are back in a big way and why not? They add height, and yet are so much more comfortable then a regular high heel- an excellent option for a long day or night on your feet. This nude pair worked perfectly for me, as I am 5’1”. The color blends with my skin tone, giving the illusion that my legs are much longer then they actually are. Oh, the dreams fashion make reality… Thanks for that, Sam Edelman!

The mirror detail on the toe is my favorite part; it makes the shoe so versatile, they could easily go from brunch to a night out. I am also a huge fan of wearing color, so I love a nude shoe since it gives me so many options to play with. I paired these beauties with a plum colored skirt (I am majorly crushing on this plum color at the moment)! Floral will always be a Spring staple so I added this cute floral top that I wore untucked to give a more casual vibe. A subtle detail like that always helps to bring through a bit of personality to a look, and that’s what it’s all about isn’t it? I am looking forward to wearing these Serena‘s all Spring and Summer long!

Spring Sandal Guide

Thursday, February 21st, 2013

Whether you’re just California dreamin’ or gearing up for an epic Spring getaway, it’s perfectly okay to have sandals on the mind. Of course, with our new collection featuring so many unique cuts, colors, and details, it’s hard to pick just one style that you’ll want to be cramming into your suitcase. To help make your decision a bit easier, we’ve broken down a few of our favorite sandals for Spring. From braided gladiators to beaded t-straps, these are some of the styles that have us finding a place in the sun:

With a fresh mix of colors, textures, and patterns, our classic t-strap “Gigi“ sandal features a minimalistic, yet flirty silhouette that completes any ensemble.

Simply chic, the “Gracie” gives the classic flip-flop a stylish update. With rich leather straps and a padded footbed, this comfortable slip-on is destined to become a warm weather staple.

For an extra lift, try the “Romy” platform flip-flop. This raised version of the “Gracie” features a similar design, but is heightened with a sophisticated cork wedge.

A luxe mix of exotic textures and edgy jewels dress up the free spirited “Gaines” sandal. With its wild styling and sleek silhouette, this sandal is a fresh way to give any ensemble boho-chic allure.

With a rhinestone mesh overlay and metallic covered heel, the “Tyra” gives gladiator styling a flirty and feminine revamp.

Fashion-meets-function in the adorable buckled-in “Trina” sandal. This everyday styles features a stylish low heel with contrasting leather straps, making it a necessary element in any chic footwear collection.

Still can’t decide which styles you’ll be slipping between you and the sand? Check out the rest of our must-have sandals collection and let us know on Facebook and Twitter which one is your warm weather staple.

HEAD OVER HEELS

Friday, February 8th, 2013

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, and while this can mean chocolates, flowers and maybe even some sparkly jewelry to some, for us, it’s all about the shoes. No matter whether you’re single, in a relationship, or ‘it’s complicated,’ February 14th is simply the perfect time to bust out those sexy shoes you’ve been auditioning in the mirror and do some hunting with cupid’s arrow. Of course, with so many alluring options in our Spring collection, it’s easy to get caught in a love triangle between two of your favorites, so here are some of our most romance-ready styles.

What better way to show that special someone that you have a heart of gold, than with a pair of gleaming gold snakeskin stilettos, like the Abbott. This elegant but revealing heel is just the right amount of sugar and spice to really turn up the heat. Pair it with a sexy red dress for a flirtatious yet feminine ensemble.

If you want to be the star in someone else’s sky, you’ll need to shine like it first; and no shoe helps you do this more than the dangerously sexy Reagan. The slim metallic heel of this romantic pump makes a daring couple with its flirty peep toe for a look that is sure to make hearts race.  Pair it with deep red pants, and a sultry lace top for a drop dead gorgeous ensemble.

If you want to stand out as someone’s valentine, it helps to stand above the competition; which is why we heart the sky-high Mason. This heeled sandal features bold straps, a trendy design and a fashionable platform that will help you kiss the sky or your loving beau.  Rock it with a form-fitting black dress, romance inspired jewelry, and our Adele jacket for an adorable contrast of sweet and sexy.

Spring 2013: Balancing Act

Thursday, January 24th, 2013

They say that when it comes to relationships, ‘opposites attract’. While this may or may not be true for matters of the heart, it is definitely true for matters of the sole. Take, for example, our new spring collection. In every new style we’ve brought together inspirations from both sides of the spectrum to revamp our favorite trends with a completely new look. From 50’s retro with a futuristic update, to animal prints with a sporty edge, our spring styles seamlessly meld contrasting aesthetics in an unexpected but stylish marriage.

Check out some examples of opposites attracting in our new Spring collection.

Sleek mirrored metallics stand out against soft pastels. It’s David Bowie meets Brigitte Bardot in this modern take on minimalism.

The reoccurring bohemian trend tells an entirely new story with a mixture of eye-catching global–inspired designs and traditional handcrafted detailing.

Luxe Warrior

Goddesses adorned with bold gold jewelry meld with warriors dressed in exotic skins to lend the jungle look an unexpected elegance.

Retro Americana

Candy-colored pastels flirt with distressed vintage western to give 50’s femininity a soft, yet rugged edge.
