It’s that time of year when our favorite celebrities walk the red carpet, dressed in one-of-a-kind pieces from the world’s top fashion designers. We can’t wait to see what Hollywood’s trendsetters will be wearing this year, and while we’re usually focused on the couture gowns and perfectly coiffed hair, flawless makeup is always something we wish we could apply on a daily basis. Now Makeup&GO! is making it possible for us to get full star treatment, at an affordable price, with their two new pop-up stores in LA, set to stay open and bustling throughout awards season!
Makeup&GO! is the first-of-its-kind professional walk-in makeup studio that uses top brands (like Tarte and Smashbox), and has the best makeup artists, who will leave you feeling ready for the spotlight. Makeup&GO! is so quick and affordable that if you’re in the L.A. area, you might as well pop in and to get your makeup done, even if you’re just watching the awards at home! Who says you need to be strutting your stuff on the red carpet to get all dolled up?

Very few items reach enough hype to become iconic, like the coveted Sam Edelman “Lorissa” studded and spiked heel. Exhibition Magazine, an annual publication that focuses solely on one subject, object or product in-depth, debuted this year with this concept in mind. The premiere issue of Exhibition showcases one of the most fascinating feminine cult products: lipstick. Despite its obvious glam factor, photographer, filmmaker, and editor-in-chief Jean-Christophe Husson chose lipstick to be the magazine’s first subject because of its timeless sensuality and ability to provoke fantasy. With pages devoted entirely to iconic shades, playful cosmetic-inspired pastries by chef Pierre Hermé, and photographs of a woman completely covered in lipstick body-paint, you’ll see your tube of rouge in a whole new light. Limited to 5,000 copies, Exhibition is more than a magazine; it’s a collector’s item. Launching this month, Exhibition is available at newsstands worldwide.

Want the perfect accessory to go with your favorite Sam Edelman shoe, AND support a worthwhile cause at the same time? Falling Whistles is a non-profit organization and campaign for peace in Congo, currently home to the world’s deadliest war. A few years ago, Sean Carasso visited the Congolese jungle, where he discovered that young soldiers, too small to carry a gun, were sent to the front lines of war armed with only a whistle. Upon returning home to Los Angeles, Sean founded Falling Whistles, with the idea that, “Their weapon could be our voice.”
He began selling whistle necklaces across North America and used 100% of the proceeds to help local Congolese leaders rehabilitate war-affected children. Celebrities like Rihanna, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jessica Biel and Beyoncé support the campaign, and have been photographed wearing different styles of the whistle necklaces. We love the necklaces, but even more, we love this amazing cause.
For more information on how you can get a whistle, or to get involved in the campaign, check out www.fallingwhistles.com.
