Kitten-heels are hot this season, and so is the debut album, Sunday School, from LA-based pop band Kitten! Although lead singer/songwriter Chloe Chaidez is too young to drive, she and her band are winning over fans everywhere with their high-energy tunes and an emotional honesty that extends beyond most teenage musicians. We are loving this winning combination of electric melodies, classic songwriting, and post punk rock style that has Spin.com calling Kitten, “This year’s best new discovery of SXSW.” Now on tour across the US and Europe, Kitten’s album, Sunday School, is available on iTunes.

Sock it to me
Wednesday, October 20th, 2010
This fall is all about layering and mixing a variety of patterns and textures, and what better way to dress up your favorite pair of Sam Edelman shoes than with patterned socks and tights! We are loving the stockings and knee socks from Missoni, which incorporate waves of color and ribbed details. Wear knee socks over bare legs or layer them with tights for added warmth. Complete your look with a pair of Sam Edelman “Sawyer” oxfords. These laser-cut lace-ups are a great way to bring an extra dimension of patterned texture into your fall wardrobe. Lace tights also make a sexy new spin on basic black, and are a perfect way to take your outfit from the office to date night. For more glam factor, our studded “Zoyla” wedge booties will turn heads with every step.

Japan Fashion Now
Thursday, October 14th, 2010
Japan Fashion Now, on view at the FIT Museum in New York City, explores contemporary Japanese fashion in all its forms. Continuing to be on the cutting edge of fashion, from avant-garde couture to street style, Japanese designers take inspiration from art and culture. The exhibition includes asymmetrical “deconstructed” pieces from 1980’s fashion designers, classic utilitarian pieces like jeans and sneakers, as well as street and subcultural styles. We are loving the Cosplay designs, which take direct inspiration from many of the most popular manga (comic books), anime (animated films), and computer games. Often replicating fictional character styles, Cosplay is a fun way to dress like your favorite action hero without having to wait for Halloween. We think the Sam Edelman “Zamara” wedge thigh-high boot is glamorously versatile and worthy of warrior princesses and fashionistas alike.
Get tattooed by Beyoncé
Wednesday, October 13th, 2010
Singer, songwriter, and style icon Beyoncé Knowles has teamed up with airbrush makeup firm Temptu to create a limited-edition collection of temporary tattoos for her Deréon label. One-part classic pin-up girl, one-part futuristic-biker-chick, Temptu is a flirty, sexy new way to show your wild side, without committing to permanent body art. The collection includes Deréon’s signature fleur icon, rocker bolts and chains, jewel baubles and more, designed to last just about a week. We are loving this fun new accessory and can’t wait to get our hands on a kit, available this November at Sephora.
